Landscaping is far and away one of the smartest (and least expensive) things you can do to get top price for your home.  When I drive up to a home that is well cared for on the outside, I know that is going to be a well cared for home on the inside.  And that door usually swings both ways. 

When you are selling your home, pour the water on the lawn during the hot months, keep the weeds out of the beds, and take out the dead plants.  In the Fall, put down a thick coat of winter rye.  While everyone else's yard is brown, your home will be sitting on a carpet of green.  Think about placing a thick layer of fresh mulch in the beds.  It freshens up the appearance, smells wonderful, and it will also help to keep the weeds down.
