If
you have ever visited the main Allen Post Office on Boyd Drive (just
west of North Allen Drive), you will probably agree, it's a nightmare.
During the day, you will rarely find an open parking space, so you have
no choice but to wait in a traffic line. When you finally get one
of the 20 or so spaces, you have to wait in line again inside to see a
postal employee. But there is an alternative.
I'll bet some of you living in east Allen, Fairview or Lucas don't even realize there is a satellite post office behind the CVS Pharmacy at 1717 Angel Parkway. That's just off the southwest corner of Stacy Rd and Angel Parkway. You might have passed it not knowing it was there because it's located in the Friendly Self Storage Center.
I stopped in and asked the employees if they could do everything the main post office in Allen does. They said yes, with the exception of registered and certified mail. So if you don't need either of those two things, you can park right in front and get in and get out quickly. An aerial location map is below.
