Pictures of the Beautiful new fairview town hall offices

No, this isn't the town of Fairview's new building, but this is where it all started.  Before Fairview exploded with growth in home development, retail, restaurants, and entertainment, this little building served them well.  The city offices were in the front part of the building and the fire department was in the back.  You can see the bay doors.  This picture was shot in 2005.  How much growth has there been?  In 2002, there was about $8,000 in the city coffers.  In 2010, they have an operating budget of around $7 million.

Earlier this year, when I first walked through Fairview's brand new fire station on Stacy Rd, it looked like something right out of La Jolla, California.  I knew right then the Fairview Town Hall Building was really going to be special too.  And it sure is.  How many towns do you know of about 10,000 people in total size have a four story office building they own for their own town hall? Keep in mind, they don't lease this building ... they own it!   The demographics are there to support these facilities along with one of the finest, small school districts in the entire state of Texas.  Below are pictures of the new building which is about two weeks away from occupancy by the town of Fairview.  Really, really impressive.

What I find fascinating about this building is it's gorgeous from both the front, shown below, and the back (next picture down).  I would imagine the reason for that is you see it from the Village at Fairview from the main street.  It is at the east end of that street.  So they had to dress up both sides equally.  Also, when you walk in from either the back or the front, you have a very similar view, which is a big stone fireplace in middle of the foyer.  Very clever!

Now, look at the back of the building with the fountain, stonework, and accents over the walkways.  This is the view you would have from the retail at the village at Fairview.  Very impressive.

They really dressed up the exterior with the fountain and stone accent columns.

The beautiful main lobby with fireplace, stone walls, and hardwood floors.

The city council room.

The second floor is reserved for the police department.  This room has a soft mat and will house their workout equipment.

The police department conference room.

This is the view to the north.  One of the Veteran's Park sidewalks can be seen.  All of the branches of the service are represented by stone monuments you can barely make out through the windows.  There are also smaller monuments with names of both living and deceased servicemen and women.

This is future expansion space for the police department.  By the way, there is no overnight holding area for prisoners.  The Collin County Sherriff's Office has those facilities.

The evidence room is to the left through a secure door.  The lockers can be accessed by the officers from the outside.

The evidence room is secured.  Only two people have a key to this room, one of which is the police chief.  The refrigerator is there for any tissue samples that require refrigeration.  There is even a more secure room to the left around the wall corner.

Notice the wide moldings running along the wall.  I was told those are there so the officers would not scrape the walls while wearing their sidearms.

The officer's locker room.

Fairview Police Chief Granver Tolliver is wearing the mounted Fairview police patch, hat and boots.  Most of Fairview's officers both ride and have their own horses, so it just made sense to have a mounted patrol unit.  The officers are required to go through a fairly intensive week long certification course with their own horses to be in the unit.  The proposed stables will be just to the east of this building.

The third floor is completely open for future needs.

One of the best shots from the building towards the new Village at Fairview is from the empty third floor.  The retail space on the right corner is called Splitsville and will be opening very soon.

The fourth and top floor is reserved for the city management offices.  This is the reception area.

Guy Harvey's, Cyclone Anaya's, and Bistro Babusan Restaurants provided some excellent Hors d'oervres

John Godwin, the city manager has guided the town of Fairview through its incredible growth.  His former office in the old Fairview Town Hall would easily fit into the space from the chairs in front of the desk to the rear wall. He is going to enjoy his spacious new digs along with all the other hard working Fairview city staff who made it happen.

This is a great office too with sweeping views to the south and west.  The covered patio through the windows will be shown below.

The fourth floor has a kitchen and dining area.

Another shot of the kitchen and dining area.

Possibly my favorite part of the building ... the outdoor patio on the top floor.  You have unobstructed views to the east, west and south.  And what a great place to take a lunch out to on a nice day.

It seems I see Office David Jones at every Fairview public event.  He's always quick with a smile and a great attitude.  He's also wearing the mounted police gear.  He loves to talk about his horses and was the one who filled me in on the Fairview Mounted Patrol.

Another great shot of the Village at Fairview.  I'll bet some people don't even know this street is here because it's hidden behind the big box stores (Macy's, Dillards, JC Pennys and the Container Store).  But this is where you'll find the the smaller, boutique stores, restaurants, and entertainment areas.

A shot to the southeast from the top floor.  You can see the iconic Fairview water tower still standing.  I understand the town is planning on keeping the tower.  It has been a landmark for so long and for years.  You could see the water tower from miles away and that's how you knew where Fairview was.

This picture is taken to the east.  The stables for the Mounted Police will be somewhere in the undeveloped area.

Another shot taken to the east showing more of the pond and Veterans Park.

This shot is generally southwest and shows the new Courtyard Marriott at the Village at Allen right across the street from the Village at Fairview.
