Effective this school year, Lovejoy ISD will no longer have to send dollars back to Austin as a recapture (Robin Hood) payment. By definition, Lovejoy ISD is still a property wealthy district, but as long as our M&O rate does not go above $1.06, we will not have to send any of your tax dollars back to Austin. The Lovejoy ISD Board of Trustees did approve an M&O tax rate of $1.06 which was ratified on September 29, 2009. An M&O rate of $ 1.06 is an increase of 2 cents. TIf you have an Over 65 exemption, your tax bill would not go up as a result of a 2 cent increase.
