Now Under Contract, Our Newest Listing at 950 Country Club, Fairview

We felt this wonderful home would go under contract quickly and it did. It used to take 3-4 months to sell homes in this price point in Fairview and Lucas because that was top of the market, but those days are long gone. The home is listed at $1.695 Million. Here’s a video and a detailed description is below.

This first home, located at 950 Country Club in Fairview, sits on a big 4 acre lot. Those are very, very difficult to find these days. The property is not in an HOA, so the uses for the extra land are endless. The house sits well back (150 feet) from the road on a big 4.3 acre lot. It has a gated entrance.

It’s located within 5 minutes of two major thoroughfares, Central Expressway which takes you to the Dallas Central Business District and Hwy 121 which leads to Plano, Frisco, and the Dallas Fort Worth International Airport. It’s just a few minute’s drive from over 3 million sf of shopping, retail, and entertainment in both Fairview and Allen.

The owner built this home with easy turnarounds for traffic in mind. A wide winding concrete driveway leads to both a Porte-cochere and a drive thru 2 car garage. Because there is a large parking pad (30×62) behind the garage, you will never have to turn around your vehicle front or back.

The home is surrounded by many large cedar trees providing year long privacy in the back including the pool area. There is a nice walkout balcony off the 2nd story gameroom taking in the views of the back acreage.

This striking country French home has a Stucco façade, accented with stone, matching the stone turret with its standing seam copper roof. The home is well landscaped front and back. Several tall peaked roofs combined with the standing seam copper roof and shutters matching the trim make this a very elegant home.

The backyard features a lagoon style pool with stone coping and attached spa (although the heater has never been connected) with waterfall and a nice sized covered patio with built in fireplace. It is a very private setting with natural landscaping.

The home has rustic farmhouse flair. The first thing you will notice are the stained concrete floors in the entry. The stained concrete floors flow through the entry, formal dining and study. Three windows in the oversized plant ledge/art niche above the front door allow for lots of natural light in the entry. This is also where you will notice the quality of the fixtures. A cast bronze chandelier with alabaster glass hangs above the entry and staircase. The staircase with hand scraped wood steps and iron balusters lead to the second floor.

To the right of the entry though a French door is the study with stained concrete floors, a wall of stained cabinets and shelving with marble countertop, skip troweled walls and an antique decorative world map recessed in the ceiling. This room overlooks the front yard.

The formal dining room is open to the entry by a 15 ft long arch. There is another beautiful chandelier. As with most of the downstairs area you will find double and triple crown molding and 6 inch floor moldings, signs of a quality custom home.

The family room has a lodge feeling to it with a vaulted ceiling with big cedar beams. A stone sit down fireplace with a rustic mantle, handscraped hardwood floors and attractive skip trowel textured walls. A charming Juliet balcony overlooks the family room from a landing to the second floor.

The gorgeous kitchen reflects the country feel and careful planning of the house. Beautiful thick Paladio granite countertops tie in perfectly with the multi color Indian slate floor and stained knotty alder cabinets. Under cabinet lighting, tall slate backsplash and the unique fluted tin roof with beams and a wonderful screen pantry door ties the kitchen together. Of course stainless steel appliances bring a modern day appearance and convenience to this rustic area of the home. The multicolor Indian slate floor and fluted tin ceilings and beams continue into the breakfast room which overlooks the pool.

The big master bedroom has a 12 foot coffered ceiling with crown moldings on each level. Hand scraped hardwood floors and a self starting fireplace with travertine surround and thick custom moldings. Double 8 ft French doors lead to the pool and spa.

The elegant master bathroom features 2 large furniture style vanities with Rojo Alicante marble countertops. Travertine floors surround the sunken jetted tub. The frameless glass sit down shower has a unique “broken top” and 3 different shower heads. The huge (16×15) master closet has extensive built in shoe racks, drawers and a tremendous amount of hanging space above and below. 2 bedrooms each with their own bathroom, a powder bath and laundry room complete the downstairs.

The owner paid as much attention to details upstairs as he did downstairs. The handscraped hardwood floors continue from the bottom of the stairs through the big gameroom (25×20). Designer copper light fixture, crown moldings and floor moldings are some of the features of this room. The gameroom has an attached wet bar with granite countertops, stained wood cabinets, a sink, beverage center and seeded glass cabinet doors. As mentioned a private walkout balcony is off this gameroom.

A wonderful large step-down media room features theater seating, lighting, sconces and curtains. A raised screen and custom carpet add just the right touch for viewing pleasure.

The 4th bedroom has the best view of the property. It has Seagrass flooring and a large walk-in closet. It also shares a full bathroom with the gameroom.

Another feature that you will appreciate about this home is the expensive foam insulation (vs. bat or blown cellulose). Not only did the owner foam the walls, but also the AC ducts. The air filtration system makes the home 99% allergy free even the roof decking has the reflective thermoshield to keep temperatures cooler in the attic.

Pride of ownership is reflected in the way this home was designed, built and maintained. From the Newport Brass fixtures to the cast bronze chandeliers, this home exudes quality inside and out.
