Older Americans Spending More on Big Home Improvement Projects

I not only agree with this article, we're trying to decide ourselves if we should take on a major home improvement project. Homes are getting so expensive, we know we won't be able to find one with all the features we have for the same price. And if we buy a lesser priced home we know won't have the features we already have, then bring it up to the standards of our current home, cost wise, we're right back where we started.

The article states "Because homes are more expensive, fewer people are changing residences". The article mentions Dallas as one of the cities where this is happening along with Boston, San Francisco, Seattle and San Jose. These are all high growth cities with strong real estate markets.
