I’ve been making notes and saving my real estate war stories over the past 34 years thinking someday I’d commit them to writing. I’ve finally come to the realization that’s never going to happen. I’m too impatient to sit down and write, but as luck would have it there’s a better way, podcasts. THIS LINK will take you to our very first of many.
The first 15 years of my real estate career was strictly commercial before I switched over to residential 19 years ago. I’m kind of a hybrid so I’m looking forward to discussing the differences between the two disciplines, and believe me, they are HUGE.
Of course, we’ll be updating our listeners periodically on the current real estate market within Collin County, but that’s only a small part of what we’ll be talking about. We’re going to “open the vault” for our listeners and discuss the topics you want to hear. All of the Realtors on our team will be working with me on these podcasts so you’ll have the opportunity to get to know them a little better and ask questions of them too.
Sellers might want to hear our philosophies on things like staging, pricing, what should be addressed before a home hits the market and what not to spend money on, when is the best time to get the home on the market, where you get the most bang for the buck on renovations, working with appraisers, how we handle tough negotiations, etc.
Buyers might interested in how to negotiate the best deal, contingency offers, financing options, when is the right time to buy to get the best deal, what to ask for in the way of repairs, how hard a bargain to drive, etc.
Some of these podcasts will also be geared toward agents. We’ll talk about the real estate industry as a career. Is it right for you? Why do 90% of new agents fall out of the business within a year? How do you build your business? How do you break into the luxury market? What are the pros and cons of working luxury and estate properties? Are you ready to build a team and if so, how do you do it?
I’m an open book when it comes to the mistakes I’ve made over my career and I’ll be sprinkling those stories in too. Some of my experiences have been funny, some disappointing, some embarrassing and some exhilarating.
The end goal is to keep our listeners coming back so we’ll be offering useful, interesting, and insightful information. I’ve already lined up some guest I think you’ll find very informative and am looking forward to asking them questions I’ve always had myself. There’s a whole world of interesting people out there of all ages so we’re going to meet some of them.
Our podcasts will come out at least once a week. If you’d like to be updated on when they happen, just send an email to me. That will also get you on our weekly email list where we share the area sales activity and discuss trends. Just send a note to me … tom@grisak.com and I’ll take care of it.
And if you have any topics in particular you’re curious about, please let me know and we’ll tackle it on a future podcast.
